    Why SigEp?


    Sigma Phi Epsilon is the nation's largest social fraternity.  At the University of Illinois, the Illinois Alpha Chapter is the third largest fraternity 141 active members.  SigEp at Illinois is a "Balanced Man Chapter" meaning that members are not required to pledge in the traditional sense.  Upon accepting one's bid, or formal invitation to join our fraternity, that individual is considered a full member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and is entitled to all of the rights and privileges that come with being a member of  the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

    - Ranked 3rd on campus with a chapter GPA of 3.345, well above the campus and IFC average

    - The IFC Chapter of the Year two years running

    - Nationally recognized with six consecutive Buchanan Cup Awards--Sigma Phi Epsilon's highest honor

    - Dedicated to service with over 4,000 hours of community service recorded yearly

    - Intramural champions: Softball, 2nd place Basketball, Soccer teams in play-offs

     

     


  • Balanced Man Scholarship

     

    Congratulations to our 2011 Balanced Man Scholarship winner Zach Teichmiller!

     


    Each fall, the men of the Illinois - Alpha chapter are proud to recognize some of the University of Illinois' best and brightest incoming freshman through the Balanced Man Scholarship. Three monetary scholarships are awarded based on high schol performance in academics, extracurriculars, and demonstrated leadership experience. Applying for the scholarship in no way obligates you to join the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Applications for the 2012 scholarship are due no later than monday April 16th. The online application can be found under the "Balanced Man Scholarships" tab on the left side of this page. You may also download a paper application using the link below.
