Spring Blacklight Dance a Big Success

Submitted by Luke Cardona on 01/24/11 03:02:00 PM
Just over 1,000 students turned out on the below zero degree Thursday night for SigEp's spring Blacklight Dance. The chapter is thankful for the support of the student body in not only making the dance successful, but for showing support for all student-driven events on our SDSU campus. SigEp looks forward to even more students at the next fall 2011 Blacklight Dance.

  • SigEps Honored at Last Chapter of the Semester

New Member of the Year - Danny Miller

After being earning 1st place for Outstanding New Member at the 2008-2009 IFC/Panhellic-organized Greek Oscars, Danny’s was an even clearer choice for the New Member of the Year Award this spring. In addition, his persevering hard work and leadership inspires us all and he will be an excellent Vice President of Recruitment for the fall of 2009.

Brother of the Year - Ryan Moreau

Ryan’s leadership has been a powerful motivation for younger members as he leads the way by example and hard work. He epitomizes the definition of Brother of the Year and enforces how its meaning should be a trait of every brother.

Star and Scroll - Joe Lamplot

As recipient of the Star and Scroll Award, Joe is the very essence of its meaning. The Award is given to a member who exhibits leadership in both academics and athletics, with an even balance between both. His hard work and character shows us all how to be a perfectly balanced man.

Epsilon Member of the Year - Alake Kashyap

Always ready for another challenge, Alake has shown everybody else what it takes to work hard in order to succeed. After being Vice President of Communications for one year with unique and successful initiatives and always working to improve his running, he has truly shown that it means to be an Epsilon member.

    Sound Body- Trey Horvath

As the Sound Body winner, Trey has shown drastic improvements to his athleticism and exercise. Practically spending every minute in the weight room or eating right secured his spot has shown us all how to set the bar high, and be successful in reaching it too.

  • Illinois Alpha Cleans up at Conclave!

In August 2007, 26 undergrads and alumni from our University of Illinois chapter traveled to Nashville, TN for the 49th Grand Chapter Conclave. This event is held every two years and showcases the recent successes of the National Fraternity, as well as giving SigEps from around the country to meet. Over 1,300 SigEps and volunteers were in attendance for the four-day event.

Illinois Alpha came home with its THIRD consecutive Buchanan Cup - the highest award a chapter can receive for overall excellence. We also won the Attendance Award for bring the largest group, and the Frayser Award for excellent alumni communications. Needless to say, Illinois Alpha is continuing its success and looking for new ways to excel and bring SigEp to new heights.
